Moon Mountain is a small lodging business near Mt. Rainier and an eco-tourist’s dream retreat. They are centrally located to both Seattle and Portland. You can visit Mt. Rainier, Mt. St. Helens, and Mt. Adams from their location. In the winter you can ski at White Pass. They are surrounded by the Gifford Pinchot National Forest. We pride ourselves in our effort to be good stewards of the land and local communities.

Moon Mountain offers two cozy cabins and a large house on 8 secluded acres. The log cabin has hickory wood flooring from EcoHaus in Seattle and the fir flooring in the cedar cabin was also purchased from EcoHaus and came from suppressed trees that are normally burned after a logging. This wood is Forest Stewardship Certified (FSC) wood. The main house, built in the 1940s, has cork flooring in the kitchen and the original fir floors were refinished in the rest of the house.

Moon Mountain is extremely committed to sustainability of both the environment and the local communities. They also use zero VOC paints, compact fluorescent bulbs, low-flow toilets, energy-efficient appliances,  recycle and use environmentally friendly cleaning products. Their toiletries such as shampoo are refillable instead of take-away small bottles. They never use pesticides and use organic compost on flowers and trees. They try to shop locally and by promoting their business, they are helping support their local community by bringing business to the other business.
