Dan Moore,
Chief Outings Officer, EverGreen Escapes
Dan grew up in Minneapolis MN and spent a large percentage of his childhood out exploring the wilderness and wild areas around home and afar. In 1996, after graduating from college in St. Paul MN (Macalester College), Dan left to spend most of a year in South America – trekking and researching tropical forests in Bolivia, Peru and Brazil. It is here he discovered the importance of creating positive experiences for people in the outdoors: “You can’t love what you don’t know, and people won’t protect what they don’t love.”
In 1998 Dan completed a certificate course in Environmental Education from the University of MN at Wolf Ridge Environmental Learning Center and shortly thereafter moved to Seattle.  After nearly a decade in the non-profit / public sector, Dan merged his passion for education with his spirit for entrepreneurialism by joining forces with EverGreen Escapes.  His work with EverGreen Escapes is the best of all worlds.  Duties include: guiding trips in the most beautiful parts of the world (Pacific Northwest), recruiting and training passionate guides, developing programs and scouting out destinations around the world for the international side of EverGreen Escapes and helping push the travel industry to higher levels of sustainability.  There is also washing dishes, cleaning vans and all the grunt work that a small business person gets to take on.
When not leading tours or working in the office for Evergreen Escapes, Dan plays guitar in the band Roxbury Pound.  Regionally focused for now, the world tour might be just around the corner….
